PRIVATE EYE

I like my films like I like my coffee – noir.

1951. A stylishly clad woman walks into a private detective’s dark office, moodily lit by streaks of afternoon sunlight coming through the venetian blinds.
The detective narrates.
Detective: THE MOMENT SHE WALKED INTO MY OFFICE, I KNEW SHE WAS TROUBLE.

The woman comes closer and we can see now she’s a mess.
Detective: I’VE SEEN HER TYPE ALL TOO OFTEN. CRAZY EYES. CLENCHED JAW. SHAKY HANDS. A TICKING TIME BOMB IN HEELS.

Detective: A REAL FEMME FETAL.
The woman is on the floor in the fetal position.
Woman: I… I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE.
